She Won't Be Walking

There inside a tiny, sleepy little town - young couple settle down
He called her his precious jewel and she loved him too
Until his sweetness would turn bitter cruel
She’d remember what her mama told her long ago
Men are wild and so, you’ve got one with an angry hear
Don’t go and get him mad, just be grateful for the life you have
But this was not supposed to be, here all alone, she’d plan and dream

CHORUS
She won’t be walking, when she goes
Won’t be talking there’ll be nothing they don’t already know
There are no magic words left to say
She’ll be leaving him, flying away, flying away

At times he’d be a tender gentle caring man, then down would come his hand
He had an overwhelming need to bring her to her knees
Then he’d apologize, he’d beg, he’d plead
Through the years those babies came slowly one by one
A daughter and a son - he couldn’t stand to hear them cry
He’d stay out all night - as long as he was gone they’d be alright
But this was not supposed to be, alone in her bed, she’d safely dream

CHORUS

Trapped inside a lie, a prisoner in danger
No one to hear her cry, nobody but herself to save her
All of a sudden he was at the doorway stumbling in he caught her on the chin
Get those kids on out of here - a bullet hits the air
Within an instant she will disappear
Cause there’s a special place in your mind, you leave your body far behind

She won’t be walking, when she goes
Won’t be talking there’ll be nothing they don’t already know
There are no magic words left to say
She’ll be leaving him, flying away, flying away
