Ten Pound Bass
Her eyes were so inviting
Her eyes were green and blue
Her eyes were like the water
That fishing men see through
Her brow was made of fairy dust
Her gaze was made to last
Her eyes made his whole summer
That - and that ten pound bass
Her legs were long and graceful
They were naked in the sun
Her legs were tan and supple
It took his breath away to see her run
If only he could catch her
He’d throw her down upon the grass
Her legs made his whole summer
That and that ten pound bass
Her kiss was sweet and simple
Her kiss was soft and kind
Her kiss was red and daring
Like brand new summer wine
It sent him on a journey
The ticket read first class
Her kiss made his whole summer
That - and that ten pound bass
All alone, on a pier, crickets calling everywhere
He drops a line, but no one’s there to see
The good luck fairy says to him
Son, you’ll have to choose
If you’d like to keep the girl
The fish you’ll have to loose
So he sat upon the pier
Wondering what he’d catch
That girl could be a memory
He’ll take that ten pound bass
