SMALL BATCH BAGS ECT.
Welcome to my textiles page.
I am in the process listing my musical themed bags for sale here on my website, using the same ecommerce I use for my CDs, books and sheet music. I'll be offering original designs in various sizes, under the header of my new passion called "SMALL BATCH BAGS" (not to be confused with small batch whiskey!) So check back often to see whassup with pics, links, and prices.
For now, feel free to click on any of the "galleries" from quilts, totes and duffle bags, to a wedding "Chuppah" (canopy) made of tulle, makeup pouches, chair coverings, and Covid Masks, Vegan Leather instrument cases, laptop cases, and cross body piano purses and clutches.
If you see something that strikes you, and you'd like to see if I might be able to make it for you, please feel free to contact me .
But first, here's my mask tutorial produced by 4BBabe pal Christine Lavin in March of 2020. Our tours had been canceled, so many folks devoted themselves to dragging out old sewing machines and dusting off their skills to help out. I'm so grateful to Chris for putting this together.

Ami's Yankee B'Mitzvah A
My niece's son, a HUGE Yankees' fan was Bar Mitzvah'd in Brooklyn. He flipped out over this gift. Especially with the lining looking like the teams retro uniforms! Score....gift!

Baby in a Bag
For a California Music Lover
Bag pouch with wristlet:
Double zipper pouch for whatever you need zipped up. Carry in a purse or on your wrist.
Chuppah creation for Max Danielle
As a wedding gift, I rented the poles and frame and made the coverings for their wedding canopy.
(DISCLAIMER: the florist did the flowers)
I finished the edges with a rolled hem for 280 linear feet of tulle. I added Max and Danielle's "Talit" '(prayer shawls), as the roof covering, and created a very traditional chuppah for their wedding back in 2017. It was the most magnificent pleasure to make.
Quilt Fly over
This was a kit, and a major challenge. More of a wall hanging than a quilt. 48" x 36" I sewed the pieces together, and then quilted in straight lines. After a while I worried that I was suffering from vertigo. Nope, just too many stripes!
Musical Chairs
Piano Hobo style bags
Polka dots for me, and music for Babe Sister Debi Smith!
Bags makeup cases w mesh:
Make up bags with little mesh pockets made for essential oils, or makeup tubes, or ear bud cases, and bottles of hand sanitizer, which will be a theme through out this entire web site.
Soft foldable travel bags
Masks
I've made masks, and I will continue to make masks. I made them from leftover fabric that I've collected over the 40+ years I've been sewing. I can't wait till we no longer need them.
Quilt Weave the Color
This quilt serves as a nunny blankey on my black couch in my living room. Pattern designed by Angela Walters, but I chose the colors and placement. As Joni Mitchell once said, "It's the kind of crazy you get from too much choice." I took it to a "long arm" quilter and she did the musical notes. Couldja bust?
Piano purses Large, Medium
For Erin who loves farm animals and gray!
Bass case
I made knapsack style shoulder Bass case out of Barbie Pink Vinyl for the Babe's bass player Deirdre Flint.
I traced her "Daisy Rock" heart shaped bass and drafted my own pattern. It was the funnest challenge ever!
Bags Cross Body upcycle
Cross Body purse for my niece, made from her late father's (my brother) Buffalo plaid flannel shirt. I took the shirt pocket, and placed it smack on the front of the bag! Gave her a lengthy strap as she's really tall, it's got zipper compartments all over the place.
Who wears the pants in this family?
Quilt, duvet, pillows, headboard
Make up bags Sm, Med, Large
Erin's diaper bag interior
Bag various pouches:
So many gifts to make and give, so I sewed and gifted! Glass cases, lipstick cases, and Makeup, oh my!
Laptop carrying case
For her Birthday, Deirdre needed a new laptop carrying case. She sent me the specs, and I chose pink sparkle vinyl. With a "keyboard" on it. The lining is cotton, quilted onto foam, nice and soft. Complete with a 15" heavy duty zipper and an detachable optional cross body strap.
Bags Cross Body upcy interior
Cross Body interior lining, also made from another of his shirts. Upcycling at it's most meaningful.
Gardening Overalls!
Quilt Steve's shirts
For the Harry Potter fan!
Bags Soft Jewelry cases:
I made this for a pal who travels with jewelry samples
Clutch bag
For grins, I designed a cross body (or clutch) bag, and used the leftover pink from Deirdre's Bass Case, and made her a matching purse! At 10" wide by 7" tall, the top closure is a heavy duty zipper. Also lined in quilted cotton.
Bags OSU travel trio stored
EJ's surf poncho
Baby Quilt
Inside the Harry Potter magic bag!
Yellow and Black cross body clutch
I was having so much fun, I made Babe Nancy Moran and Yellow and Black cross body clutch for her "Taxi" music conference!
Hanukah Christmas stockings
Our son Aaron and his wife Erin, asked for Christmas stockings for their mantel. Aaron is a Hanukah person, and Erin is a Christmas person, and their baby is a both person. So notice Aaron's is made of Hanukah fabric. This was the funnest ever!!!
Durable and hearty, I upcycled upholstery from my office chair and curtains!
Hanukah Hoody front
Even in the powder room!
Christine Lavin and her bag I made with planets, in honor of her song PLUTO!
Hanukah Hoody back
Look at that Menorah will ya! So shiny and magical.
I even covered a card board box with this fabric.
Book Shelf Quilt
Porch table chairs
We enclosed our back porch, and I felt that I needed to upcycle our years old table and chairs. So I recovered the cushions, and make a sparkle vinyl "bottle cap" style table cover for easy cleaning. We love it out there!
